10 New Scholarships in the Sixth Edition of AJYAL: A Programme to Support Arts Education

Ettijahat - Independent Culture is excited to announce the recipients of the sixth edition of the AJYAL Programme for the 2024-2025 academic year. This programme supports art students in Syria across all artistic fields and includes a joint special edition with Saint Joseph University (USJ) in Beirut offering opportunities to enrol in a Master of Arts at USJ.
The scholarship recipients were chosen from over 58 eligible individual and group applications through a thorough review by two separate selection committees. The first committee included Hoor Malas, Ali Mourly, Omran Younis, Maya Mounayer, and Mustafa Al-Aboud. The second committee comprised Sawsan Bou Khaled, Mary Elias, and Yara Nashawaty.

Since its launch in 2019, the AJYAL Programme has supported 48 students from various artistic backgrounds, enabling them to pursue bachelor's and master's degrees. So far, 24 students have graduated, and the programme is committed to renewing the scholarships for BA students annually until they complete their studies.
