A Moment of Art: Beyond Geographical Confinement

We share with you the digital publication “A Moment of Art: Beyond Geographical Confinement” which includes the activities of the digital conference organized by Ettijahat at the end of 2021. Ettijahat invited a number of artists to reflect on the ability of the arts to reshape reality, to address their position in the past and present given the disintegration of physical and political geographies, and on the transformation of certain reference points. They were called upon to reflect on the meaning of a moment of art, in parallel with the start of a new decade devoid of certainty, marked by questioning history and flawed memories.

This conference was organized under the MINA: Artistic Ports and Passages initiative which ran in the years 2021 and 2022. The conference included four webinars discussing what is possible and available beyond geographic borders, and the impact on art and other forms of production and its reception. This digital edition documents the activities of the conference and considers the questions raised by participants, in addition to other contributions.
