The Third Open Day for Cultural Research | A Summary of Urgent Questions

Dec 2019

Participating researchers at the Cultural Research Open Day on August 30, 2019 presented their research papers and posed the urgent questions that formed the basis of their research and were discussed with the attendees and the participating experts. The most important of these questions: In the Syrian novel, it is important to talk about what is documentation and what is fictional? Where does the Syrian fiction novelty stand today? Can our imagination accommodate our reality?

Do the methods of dealing with Self of Ego differ between texts produced inside Syria and texts written outside it? How do Syrians represent themselves today in the Diaspora Theater? How can we understand the asylum as a new identity for the Syrians and how can we understand it on the theatre stage?

What is the link between the Patriarchy and the cultural heritage in general? What are the most prominent manifestations of this Patriarchy in the cultural heritage of Jabal Al-Arab in Syria? How important is it that we prepare to delve into the characteristics and manifestations of patriarchal societies in the social structures of the region?

How did the displacement of the people of the Syrian regions have an impact on the lyrical and musical heritage? Has the war contributed to the loss of this heritage, or to its adherence to it?
