Cultural Priorities

The programme seeks to review the Independent Culture Project in the context of ongoing social and political transformations. It also aims to create alternatives to reflect on the benefits of art and culture at the level of policies and priorities, build consensus among those involved in public interest matters, such as specialists, researchers and activits in creative fields, in order to discuss issues related to cultural change, and determine the role of art and culture in the present and future. The programme also attempts to work on strengthening the fundamental role of art in envisioning a better future and to learn from other countries’ experiences in this regard.

The programme aims to create a common space for art workers and to reach a consensus on the most important priorities emerging from the current stage of social and political transformation, as well as to provide opportunities to raise awareness and knowledge on the role of cultural intervention in transitional stages and to discuss relevant core issues and their impact on the forms of organization and the contents of production and receipt.
