Jul 2017

Ettijahat continues to receive applications for the fifth edition of Research: To Strengthen Culture of Knowledge programme. The application window closes August 27, 2017.

All information related to application requirements as well as the application form is available by clicking here.

Ettijahat conducts an open Q&As on Facebook to all young researhers interested in joining the 5th edition, taking place August 7th from 4.30 to 5.30 pm (Beirut time).

This capacity-building programme aims to provide an opportunity for Syrian and Palestinian- Syrian young researchers (22-40 years old) to research within the field of cultural studies. The programme is a full-time commitment and seeks to enhance the researchers’ skills, giving them guidance and access to accomplish their research project (the programme will probably be their first such venture following their academic studies). Experienced cultural researchers, who constitute the Selection Committee of the programme, will directly supervise the projects.

The programme will focus on current topics in cultural research that are relevant to the situation in Syria, especially on changes in the perspectives of Syrian artists with regard to their relationship with society and the transformations it is witnessing.

This edition has increased the number of grants, as well as their value. The theoretical scope of topics covered will expand to include heritage and creative professions, as well as the topics covered in the previous editions. The project is aimed at Syrian researchers, including Palestinian-Syrian researchers residing in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey and Europe.
