Results of Laboratory of Arts Fourth Edition to Be Announced Soon

Fifteen judges in five independent judge panels specialized in various cultural fields are currently examining 146 completed applications received by Ettijahat prior to June 15, 2017, the final deadline for the fourth edition ofthe Laboratory of Arts programme. The results are expected to be announced by mid of August, 2017.

The Syrian Artist Support Programme - Laboratory Of Arts is a programme launched by Ettijahat- Independent Culture, in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut. It directs its focus at Syrian artists and cultural organisations, and seeks to create a supportive and free environment for creative practices, responding to new possibilities as they emerge. It also aims to empower artists and organisations, enabling them to accomplish and develop their creativity through substantial grants, within the following artistic formats: Cinema and Animation, Theatre, Dance, and Performance Art, Creative Writing, Visual Arts, including Fine Arts, Installations, and Graphic Design, and Music.

The programme is aimed at artists and existing initiatives in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, and Turkey, as well as countries of refuge and exile in Europe. This edition of the Laboratory of Arts programme, on the occasion of Ettijahat's fifth anniversary, and due to the large number of applications received last year, is doubling the number of annual grants to 20. The value of each grant is up to 5000 USD.
