Focus Syria: An International Forum For Contemporary Syrian Arts In Beirut

Ettijahat- Independent Culture, in association with Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF) in Cairo, will organise Focus Syria, an international forum in support of contemporary Syrian arts. Focus Syria will be held on April 18^th 2016 in Dawar Al Shams Theatre as well as Montaigne Theatre at Institut français du Liban and the Station in Beirut.

The forum includes a number of consecutive events, starting with a presentation session for projects in progress. The participants include Mayyar Aleksan, Omar Jbaee, Raghad Al Makhlouf and Oussama Halal. The forum will also include launching three publications in association with Mamdouh Adwan Publishing House.

Additionally, Focus Syria will present the play Above Zero by Oussama Halal, and the dance performance Deplacement, by Methqal Al Zughair.

The event will conclude with a concert by Al Sayyed Darwish, singing from his new album Land of Fish, and another concert by Tanjaret Daghet music group.
