MAHARAT’s Training Program in 2023

In the training program of Maharat in 2023, the diverse experiences of the 23 participants of artists and workers in the fields of performing arts are a key feature of this edition. This diversity was taken into account throughout the training period,  which extended for four months and was concluded at the end of 2023. This video offers an inside look into the experiences of trainees in the Maharat Program of 2023, focusing on key milestones and activities in the curriculum. The program, led by six trainers in the performing arts, comprised 150 hours of sessions covering practical, general, and specialised knowledge. The training also facilitated networking with local artists and spaces in Lebanon. Despite challenges in Lebanon and the region, participants engaged in discussions on these challenges within the program's activities. The training sessions encouraged dialogue and reflection on adapting to the regional context and changes in the performing arts scene, considering their impact on artistic and technical production.
 
The program emphasized the importance of investing in technological talents and considering regional expansion in the coming years, aiming to open new channels for cultural exchange, enhance skills, and explore new economic forms feasible within the scope of the performing arts field in the Arab region, through focusing on technological advancements, industrial standards, emerging trends, and innovative practices within the field.
