Future Paths | New Episode with Ali Atassi

In this interview with Future Paths, we host journalist, producer, and documentary filmmaker Ali Atassi the founder and director of Bidayyat for Audio-Visual arts.

Since 2000, Atassi has been writing for several Arab and international newspapers on political and cultural topics. Since 2001, he directed two short documentary films and two feature documentaries and produced several short and documentary films. His films have been shown in numerous festivals worldwide and have gained several awards. 

Future Paths is a podcast series consisting of 11 interviews which we recorded in 2021 with several Syrian cultural and artistic actors, especially over the past ten years. The interviews provide a broad and multifaceted perspective on the primary questions and transformations that have accompanied artistic production in the Syrian context, as well as their links to the issues of the Arab region and the world. The series also attempts to anticipate the major questions related to Syrian cultural and artistic production over the upcoming period.
