Coming Soon | The results of the component of Business Models and the sustainability of Performing Arts Groups


Ettijahat- Independent Culture launched in partnership with DROSOS Foundation the Component of the Business Models and the Sustainability of Performing Arts Groups within the MAHARAT: Building Careers in Performing Arts Programme’s Business Planning Training. This component targets small and medium enterprises from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan and Egypt. Which working within the Performing Arts Sector in the Arab Region and aims to provide them with skills in financial planning within the for-profit and non-profit frameworks, help them identify challenges in funding and sustaining resources, think of business models which can respond in the long term to the impact of the general lockdown, economic crisis, and empower financial and digital alternatives. 10 Groups to be selected soon.
 
The applications submitted varied in terms of the areas of work, with 80% belonging to the theatre, music, art education, dance, and playwriting sectors. These gatherings provide several services, including capacity building, networking and employment opportunities, artistic production, training courses and workshops, exhibition opportunities, and space and festival management. The gatherings are also interested in working with young people, professional artists, and cultural experts. The applications were distributed as follows: 45% from Egypt, 25% from Palestine, 18% from Lebanon, 6% from Jordan, and 6% from Syria. This component consists of a training program including three 15-day digital workshops over a period of seven months between July and November 2022, as well as a mentoring scheme and financial support amounting to €4,500 per entity.
