Opening the Call for Applications to MAHARAT’s Training Programme

Ettijahat – Independent Culture, in partnership with DROSOS FOUNDATION, launches the first edition of MAHARAT’s Building Careers in Performing Arts Programme. The programme targets technicians working in the field of artistic production who are looking to enhance their technical skills. The programme aims to enhance the professionalism of technicians in the various fields of performing arts, provide them with the required skills and knowledge to build new careers, strengthen the capacities of those working in technical disciplines, and improve their ability to contribute to public life and to the labour market.

The MAHARAT programme focuses on four categories of specialization: Lighting Techniques, Sound Techniques, Stage Management Techniques, and Production Techniques. The programme spans 350 hours of training, over a period of 28 weeks, with three days of training per week, at an average of 14 hours. The training will last from the second half of September 2020 until the second half of April 2021 (the location will be determined at a later stage).

Deadline for applications submission: 30th of July 2020, Midnight Beirut Time.

Ettijahat accords a great deal of importance to public safety measures in all the programme’s activities and trainings. We will take all the necessary preventive measures and tools to minimize the potential spread of COVID-19. If necessary, the theoretical aspect of the programme can be conducted online, while the remaining aspects can be carried out at a later stage with social distancing measures throughout the duration of the training.
